Reiki for Stress and Anxiety

If you answered ‘yes’ to these questions, you could be experiencing anxiety. Anxiety is the most common mental health condition in Australia, and on average, 1 in 4 people will experience anxiety at some stage in their life.

There are different types of anxiety, and everyone will experience it differently. There is no one way to treat it, which is why in a Reiki and Intuitive healing session with me, its important that I get to know you, you’re individual circumstances, how you’re feeling and what you’re experiencing. Every session with me is individualized, and tailored specifically to your needs.

So how exactly does Reiki work and can it help heal anxiety?

Reiki is Japanese for ‘intelligent or universal energy’ and works under the belief that everything is energy – our bodies, our thoughts, our emotions, and situations and experiences are also made up of energy. Every day, our energy is affected by the people around us, our thoughts, feelings and emotions, the food and drink that we ingest, and the activities and work that we do. Everything has an impact for better or worse. However it is the traumas or significant life events in our past that have usually created a big shift or blockage in our energetic body. This life event or series of events can have huge impacts on the way our energy travels through our body, and when our energy gets stuck or blocked, this can then manifest into emotional, mental or physical dis-ease such as anxiety.

Most of the time in Western medicine, the go to is to simply treat the presenting symptom, however Eastern medicine or alternative healing such as Reiki, always treats the body as a whole. When you receive a Reiki healing treatment, the practitioner will channel Reiki energy into your body – helping to shift any stuck energy or blockages. Once your energy is moving more freely, you will start to come back into balance, and naturally heal yourself.

Some of the benefits of Reiki include lower stress levels, a greater sense of calm and clarity, improved mood and a more positive state of mind, less physical pain, and improved quality of sleep. Many clients report feeling more able to cope with life’s challenges, feeling more relaxed than they have in a long time, and more confident within themselves.

Reiki also helps situations too – if you find yourself in a challenging situation, Reiki can bring about peace and clarity, and you might find that the situation ‘magically’ resolves. You might also find more opportunities come your way, or you might have a really positive conversation or resolve conflicts that you were experiencing.
